How did the universe come into existence?

Who created the World
Did the world just come into existence or was there an intelligent being behind it? Most people including great scientists like Einstein believe in an intelligent creator.

In Judaism we believe that G-d created the universe in seven days. Some people question this belief based on the time, but remember a day to G-d is much different than what we consider to be a day. Some say that a day to G-d is 1000 years. Either way the whole purpose of existence is people. G-d created the universe so people could progress spiritually and become better people. Sure there have been some setbacks, but ultimately the world will progress to a much better state.

From a mystical standpoint there is a belief that G-d originally created containers to hold onto spiritual light. The containers could not hold onto to the light and shattered creating sparks. From the mystical standpoint we are here to collect these sparks. For more details you can study Jewish Mysticism in depth. It is a broad topic that cannot be covered completely in this article. Another mystical belief is that the process of creation never ended and the fact is that if G-d did not continue this process we would not exist.

What ever your belief it is obvious that G-d created the universe. to have such a complex and sophisticated universe come together on its own without any intelligence behind it could never have happened.
